Hey folks, gather 'round and let me tell you the tragic tale of my trusty 2005 Subaru Forester, a vehicle that’s been through thick and thin with me—and one that recently had an unfortunate run-in with a pothole the size of a kiddie pool. Yep, it was a real doozy, and my poor rim was the casualty. Let this be a lesson: no matter how tough your car is, those potholes out there are tough as na...
Not sure what is happening. Going to schedule a visit to the dealer but not sure what they can do. Battery is under 190 for 100% and under 145 for 80%. Only get a couple miles more when I switch over to efficiency. Weather is nice now here in the south (70s-80s) so not sure what else is going on.
The radio in my 2022 Calligraphy stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Display works fine, no issue with navigation or using the display for any settings or any other functions. No AM, FM or Sirius radio. If I use the bluetooth connection to my phone, and stream music, it works fine. The 'Sounds of Nature' background stuff works fine. Just no over the air innputs. Took it to the deal...
So we just got our 23’ GW 6.4L in August. Engine is locked up at 8166 miles. Dealership won’t know the extent until they dive into it. Happened while my wife was crossing a highway. Thank God she made it across and coasted to the shoulder. We had roadside assistance and that was a pain in the ass dealing with the towing company wanting to be paid on the spot over $500.(We didn’t have to pay...
Curb rash on one of the two wheels… the other wheel was nowhere near as bad, but it still needed the same treatment. Ready for the tires to be dismounted and discarded and ready for some fresh powder coating… I started with a wire wheel on the drill and got the majority of it out. Then I moved to 120 grit, 220, 400, and then a 600 sponge. Go easy on the wire wheel at first just so you c...

This is an FYI in case you are ever in this situation. I got a call earlier today from my insurance agent asking me to call them about a claim. I was pretty confused since I haven't driven much of anywhere lately and surely wasn't in any accidents. She informed me there had been an accident claim on my 2012 Silverado. That truck was previously totaled..all air bags deployed,(th...
Hi I recently was forced to use my factory car jack on my 2017 Optima EX and its a joke. It fits the pinch rail OK but the way your forced to crank the jack up is ridiculous. There's no bolt on the end of the jack screw rod its just a hook. Then the hook rod has to be turned at 1/4 turns for 20 mins using a slot on the nut wrench. Both up & down. Lots of fun laying on the ground on th...
Well, I don’t have the TomTom reboots anymore(OTA Map Update). But a new issue has started happening. This has only happened twice, so far. Upon starting the vehicle, the Uconnect screen stays black and a loud buzzing sound comes through the speakers. We just got through a trip(over 10 hours of driving)Labor Day weekend and everything worked flawlessly. Since being back home this issue happe...
My car is a 2020 with 13500 hard miles. Redlined to work every morning which is about 10 minutes there and 20 minutes on the way back. I have some car audio things that may have contributed to its demise. 1 400 watt kicker amp for my subwoofer, 1,4 channel 1600 watt DS 18 amp for my door speakers. I also think the road conditions... huge potholes where the battery fluid maybe gets slo...
May not seem like much, but apparently was bad enough. Insurance is writing her off. Spent the weekend taking her mostly back to stock. Thanks to condition and mileage I'll be getting a bit over 19k for it. Going to use that as a down payment on either a Kia EV6 GT Line or a Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD. A bit smaller than the Fozzy, but I was always more into the fun than practical side of it. Still...
I have a 2013 JKU with an automatic transmission. This morning I was on my way to work and sitting at a red light. All of the sudden I noticed that my tachometer dropped to zero, the engine had just died. I put the Jeep in park and turned the key and the engine started right away. I then put it in drive and the Jeep would not move. I put it back in park then back into d...
I am replacing the bumper tomorrow along with a couple other parts. I work for a body shop so I should be able to get away for $800 or less. If I had claimed it there is close to $3000 at full price. Headlight has a small scratch that will buff out which would have been over $1000. Deductible is $500 for a hit and run so I decided to avoid claiming it.
So my 2023 OBW is currently sitting at my local dealer. Yesterday when I went to lunch it didn’t seem like it wanted to start. Then all of the nannies showed disabled and the check engine light was on. Got it started and all lights were still lit up. Went to my local dealer and out of the blue everything reset. But they still wanted to run a diagnostic on it. In which they found an issue wit...
I recently installed a sunroof in my car, I noticed a black foam adhesive holding the sunroof bracket onto the roof. Any idea what’s that adhesive is called and where I can get some?
My wife was driving home from work last week, heard a thumping noise. Pulled in the driveway, the low tire pressure light came on. She pulled into the garage and shut it down and got out. Could hear air hissing from the left rear. Made troubleshooting easy I guess. Turns out she must have run over a nail or screw, which got thrown out of the tire. Not an issue, we have all done it. Lu...
P0128 code just popped up this week on a 2016 JK with 86k miles. A local shop charges $225 to replace the thermostat, but really wants to run a full Dx before repairing, at an additional $125. What do people think? Should I get the full Dx? Or is it 99% needs a new thermostat? Should I do the work myself? Or better left to the shop? I am a little nervous that they will charge m...
Its stuck in park, cant shift out. Any ideas? 2015 wrangler P0571 error I guess removing the module yesterday to fix my radio I broke it. Anyone know part number? Cant drive to dealer to fix as well
My 2013 JKU is slowly losing coolant and I cannot find the leak. About 1 month ago, I did discover that my radiator was leaking. There was a noticeable fast drip coming from the radiator everyday when I got home from work. I ordered a new Mopar radiator and installed it. I no longer see any leaks coming from the radiator, not even dried up coolant anywhere on the new radiator.&nbs...
Well, bad news. After driving it around the block for the first time I noticed it kept dying. When I tried to start it some white smoke came from the exhaust. Shut it down immediately and towed it home to prevent damage if anything was wrong. I get home, check the oil, and it's foamy and white. Wonderful. The build is brand new and I was meticulous about doing everything to spe...
Back in Feb the compressor was making some loud noises (~65k on it). Was still cooling but wasn't needed much at the time. Figured the compressor was on the way out so ordered an OEM replacement ($750 ouch). Finally noticed the AC had stopped working and a week later made time to look at the system. Found a leak at the compressor's top connector O ring. Replaced with AC specific O ring...
