I bought the kit from ECS Tuning. You don't need to use their adapter after installation, but you can lift the car from the jack pads and then put the jack stands under the pinch welds. Locating the Rear Jack Pads on Your VW AtlasThe rear jack pads on your Volkswagen Atlas are closer to the car's center. While a large plastic cover covers the driver’s side jack pad, the passe...
I've been dying to give my wheels some tender loving care for some time now. You know how it is, every other time you step back from your ride, and those poor wheels just seem like they have been through a season of "Survivor." Mud, brake dust, and what I can only assume is a mixture of tar and bad decisions caked all over them. So, with a free weekend and an undying love for my 2011 Subaru...
I recently installed some protection film to my gear shifter, I had it cracked already and scratches, it was replaced under warranty, but it might be that they won't give me warranty anymore on that. I am sure some guys do a better job than I did.
Before diving into the main WEKFEST event, I’d like to introduce the refinements made to various sections of my car. Front Section I converted the front under spoiler from Job Design to carbon fiber. This type perfectly fits the recessed parts of the bumper without changing the minimum ground clearance. Initially available only in FRP, MOONTECH recreated it in carbon fiber inst...
A couple of days ago I started up the Acadia to head to work and I noticed the mildewy, dirty socks smell filling the cabin. It was brief, and it was also a reminder of what my Impala smelled like from time to time. So I looked up some solutions and arrived at this…
Current 12v power socket inside the console under hand rest is very inconvenient and unusable. (Just like my Tesla Model 3). Not sure what they were thinking. Even to pump some air into tires, or bike tires its annoying. So, I was thinking to add power socket at least in the cargo area, and later if possible behind the console above USB ports. I removed the cover, and it seems...
Hi All, Just to let all other Terrain owners in BC Lower Mainland know, I just purchased a new class lll 2" trailer hitch from RackN-n-Hitch in Richmond for $147.00. The add can be found on craigslist in Vancouver. Customer service was excellent and well so was the price. I wanted to pass on the information to others out there looking at purchasing a hitch to save you all...
NOTE: Also, proceed at your own risk. NOTE: I need to make a disclaimer. If you do not find this thread useful and not your cup of tea, that is OK with me. I do not need or want to start debates or negative criticism. This is just something I want to try. I state this because at times, things are not appreciated by some. I've recently started trying out some LED headl...
Meet Ash Burrows, a fervent BMW enthusiast whose E46 M3 is no ordinary ride. After a spirited track day ended with the car’s S54 inline-six engine tossing a rod, Ash decided it was time for an upgrade rather than a simple fix. Entrusted to the capable hands of Craig Taylor at DynoTorque, this red coupe was about to get a heart transplant that would make any BMW purist's pulse race—a swap to...
Are you a BMW aficionado with a penchant for speed and innovation? Buckle up, because Gabura Racing Technologies (GRT) in Munich, Germany, is turning the sophisticated BMW i8 into a heart-racing supercar named the GRT V8i. Not sure if anyone else had this problem, but my little flap gate on rear scuff plate broke? I removed it and found the little tiny plastic molded feature of the scuff plate that acts as a hinge pin holder, that has about 1/8 of material simply snapped off. I said wow that looks really cheap no wonder it broke! I thought I 'd simply replace the main molded part thinking it would be ch...
An additional cigarette lighter outlet is installed in the luggage compartment.
Yesterday I installed a REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty trailer brake controller. I ordered 3 different parts, but only ended up using 2 of them. The brake controller kit: The knob itself is an interesting setup with a light-pipe directly above the knob. The nut has a step in it so it can reach the knob threads: The Honda compatible TPH-013 wiring harness that you have to buy se...
Did an oil change back in December and while waiting for the oil to drain, I was checking out the bottom half of the engine. I noticed two separate oil leaks, with one being worse than the other. The first one was at the timing chain cover right by the power steering pump. This one wasn’t bad but there was oil residue there. The second leak was at the transmission to engine mount area. This...
Wasn’t too bad of a job. Using a thumb/finger driver helped a lot. 30 mins and no more annoying thump thump after turning off ignition was worth it
Installed the gas shock absorber of the engine compartment cover.
I wanted a trailer back-up camera to the far LH side of the dash, and think I found a good way if anyone wants auxiliary power for something like this, dash cam etc. etc. I used a fuse tap, on the interior fuse panel that is just below the drivers dash area. I chose the cooler/safe fuse for power, but the lighter fuse is also a good option. I ran the wire from this fuse panel,...
Installed hood struts from Amazon today. Quick installation. Lift is smooth. Left the prop rod in the event of failure, but pleased with the quality so far!
