Tonight's Refinement Introduction: Side Markers

These are standard equipment in the US, but of course, they aren't included in the Japanese versions.

I had been considering these for about a year and a half, but they were incredibly hard to find. Eventually, MOONTECH sourced them from the US for me.

*Note: MOONTECH’s president, Taguchi-san, frequently travels abroad and has strong overseas connections, which is a significant advantage for MOONTECH.

Now, about the markers, they are installed on both the front and rear.

For the front, the side of the bumper had to be cut out, and I can only imagine how challenging it was to cut it perfectly. I'm just very grateful...

The installation is seamless without any aftermarket feel.

As for the rear, replacing the entire tail assembly would be too expensive. Instead, MOONTECH created a custom setup by modifying the original Japanese tail unit.

*Note: Technically, you can buy just this part, but this custom job turned out to be excellent.

The front markers are OEM with three LEDs. However, the US OEM rear markers only have one LED. I wasn't aware of this, but Taguchi-san at MOONTECH made the rear markers with three LEDs to match the front.

I am deeply thankful for this.

Adding the side markers enhances visibility during night drives and clearly differentiates the car from the Japanese spec. The color alignment with the calipers is also spot-on.

Personally, I’m not particularly interested in the US spec, but the lights look cool. Maybe my fascination with lights means I'm still a kid at heart, or maybe it’s something else, haha.

These small parts bring immense satisfaction. Among all the refinements, this one is a particular favorite.

I'll delve into another part next time.
