BBS LM (DBK) wheels + new tires and brakes

After over four years with the CV04S wheels, I decided to switch them out.

I carefully considered my options and settled on BBS LM (DBK) wheels, which I purchased from D'Art and had rebarreled by MOONTECH. The sizes are approximately F10.5J -13 and R11.5J -13 (with some variance due to the rebarreling), maintaining similar dimensions to the CV04S. I asked MOONTECH to ensure a tight fit, converting to long hubs, modifying the front inner, and using spacers to achieve the ideal stance. The wheels extend about a centimeter further out than the CV04S.

Since I was also contemplating a brake caliper swap, I chose the highest disk LM427. The original rim size is 8.5J.

To preserve the original color of the disks, I kept them unpainted, using them overhead to make the disks appear larger.

The rims have a light brushed finish with urethane clear coating, and the rim edges were painted silver to resemble the original BBS rims. This gives a distinct shine compared to the diamond-cut rims, which I really like.

When viewing the car from the front, the rear looks too weak, and from the rear, the front looks too bulky. Since excessively deep rims wouldn’t suit the car’s character, MOONTECH adjusted the outer rim size for an optimal balance.

The air valves were converted to short valves, all thanks to MOONTECH's expertise.

I installed the wheels with a BBS installation kit. Although I considered chrome and polished finishes, I opted for this setup to change the car’s overall look.

Tires

I switched from Continental SportContact 7 to Michelin PS4S tires. The softness of the sidewalls maintains a comfortable ride even with firmer damping.

Additionally, I simply wanted to try them out because the sidewalls look cool.

Brakes

I reverted to the original Advics calipers, prioritizing a balance between braking performance and appearance. ENDLESS Monoblock 6GT was another option, but budget and other considerations led me to this choice.

To enhance their look, I painted the calipers in an orange-gold metallic similar to the 35R and the bells in gunmetal.

For the logo, I decided not to change it since these are genuine LEXUS brakes, and opted for the LEXUS logo in gloss black.

The rotors feature carving slits and dimple holes for a more rugged appearance, improving dust expulsion and heat dissipation. If the look feels insufficient, I might upgrade to Rdd.

The pads were replaced with low-dust M-type from Dixel.

I requested this setup to prioritize both aesthetics and performance, giving the car a fresh feel even in its fifth year.
