The Reader’s Digest version …
From what I’ve read here on the forum, it looks like Gen 8 Impala owners who have upgraded their brakes have invariably chosen the Police Package route. Its cost-effectiveness and better performance certainly make that a good option, but I thought I’d try something a little different, so I did.
In fact, I think I may well be the first-ever Gen 8 owner to install the ZZPerformance W-body front brake kit on his or her Impala.
Having completed the installation on my car, I am happy to report that this kit will fit a Gen 8 Impala, and is very nearly a direct bolt-on. Not quite a simple parts swap, but close enough. At least, it fits my car. Obviously, 18” wheels are required for this. Also, I don’t know what the fitment would be like on cars with stock LTZ wheels, but there’s ample clearance for the calipers behind the spokes of my 18” BBS wheels.

As part of my brake project, I also installed a PowerStop Z23 rear pad and rotor kit. This kit contains rotors that match the new front rotors and more aggressive carbon-ceramic pads, as well as fresh slide pin boots and lubricant.
