Installed an Oil Separator on the PCV Line of my LFX

There are numerous pics and videos detailing the carbon buildup on the intake valves of LFX motors all over the Internet, including various threads in this forum. This buildup results from oil droplets contained in the PCV vapors passing from the engine into the intake and then coating the valves. This oily coating isn't washed away by fuel the way it is in port-injected engines because no fuel passes over the valves in a GDI motor. It just burns on and builds up gradually as carbon deposits.

I've been aware of this issue for some time, but I'm lazy and have been procrastinating. Besides, the car has been running fine, and you don't think about fixing a leaky roof when it isn't raining, right? Nevertheless, it's been gnawing away at the back of my mind, so I decided to join the oil separator club and installed a nice unit over the weekend. I think the project turned out just right, and a keen eye will spot the separator in the photo below.
