MIST3RX's Sleeper Build

Gear / Vehicle Modifications written by @MIST3RX Hyundai Veloster N 2021

UPDATED (7/2/2023) - Ok, so I've started to delve into modding my car. It's a red/black '21 VN DCT. I'm keeping the appearance stock for the time being - no stickers on the outside and no body mods for now, as this seems to invite younger punks (and the occasional older 40+ adolescent punk) who want to engage in rolling races. And a shout out to my wife, who has been more than patient with me throughout this experience - I love you hon! Keep in mind that I've had this car since the end of April and have really only just started, so bear with me, please. I also very much want to keep the warranty intact, so I'm not adding anything that would nullify it until much later down the road.

Current mods:

XPEL Fusion Plus Ceramicoat (Entire exterior painted surfaces)

SXTH Element Catch Can

Injen SP1343P CAI w/ red oiled air filter

Yames Turbo Inlet Adapter

SXTH Element TBI Spacer (black)

Boomba Racing Intake Manifold Spacer (red)

Turbo Tech Racing Upper Engine Mount (red)

Turbo Tech Racing Lower Engine Mount (red)

Tork Motorsports Lower Control Arm Braces

Pierce Motorsports Trunk Brace

SXTH Element Front Mount Intercooler for DCT

Powerflex Transmission Mount Insert (Race)

Pierce Motorsports Performance Brake Hose Kit

SXTH Element downpipe

aFe Takeda 3in Stainless Steel Midpipe

Future mods under consideration (as my budget permits):

Pierce 4-Point chassis brace

Upgraded HPFP

Tune??

I've had several opportunities to take this car on road trips - from my house in Kennesaw, GA down to the coast at St Marys, GA (about 30 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL). We've purchased some retirement property down there, and that will undoubtedly eat into my mod budget at times. But the trip is about 360 miles and takes us down I-16 from Macon, GA down to Savannah. This Interstate is less traveled, has lots of wide open stretches with no trees in the median, and no Exits for miles where cops can hide for speed traps, plus guard rails and fencing down the middle. In other words, lots of places where you can safely open it up to higher speeds with little to no risk involved from traffic or cops. On most of this Interstate, I can easily average between 90 - 100mph. I'm stunned at how well this car handles and rides at this speed, and am anxious to see how it does with the future mods! I'm going to have to temper my budget and time for the mods, as I have neither the tools/equipment to do a lot of those myself nor the time due to my job and other commitments. Will keep you posted!
