Somebody on a thread mentioned toe-in the other day so it prompted me to check mine. When I installed my new tie-rod and drag link a couple years ago I fuddled around with a tape measure, string, pipe and a bunch of crap, finally getting it close.
Sitting in the Garage afterwards I came up with this. I started with a rough inside measurement. Tire to Tire. using the seam where the sidewall started to become the tread pattern, giving me a concentric circle around the tire. Then I cut a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe to get really close but a little snug. Then I ran the pipe from tire line to tire line, both front and back, trimming down the pipe as I went, to get the toe-in to 0*. Cut another 1/16th off the pipe, adjusted the toe back in till snug in the front, giving me the 1/8th I was looking for. Tightened up the adjuster and called it a day. Checked it again today, took about 45 seconds, 2 to check and 43 to get up off the pavement.
Here's a quick video link if it helps anyone.
