Yet Another In Tank Fuel Pump Fail.

Hopping onto the freeway the other day the engine sputters and dies. A quick check of the pressure gauge on the supply line tells me I got low pressure, but I can hear the pump running so of course the first thing that hits me is the damn fuel line burst in the tank like on so many others lately.
So down comes the tank and yes the hose burst as expected.

I don't like the way the pump was offset putting a bind on the fuel line. So I bent the Bracket to line up the pump. When assembled they left about a 3/4 in gap between pump and sender tube. I closed the gap and shortened the line so there is less space for the line to burst.
And yes, this time I used the submersible 300 Psi fuel line that I should have replaced in the first place.

I was tempted to use the teflon lined high pressure efi line as an experiment. But I already had bought the submersible line expecting this to happen eventually and I've already dropped the tank enough this decade.
