The mod/upgrade I was forced into

Brought my 07 vert in for an oil change before being stored for the Winter. Was told I needed new ball joints. Total estimate around 900.00.

Long story short...I have insurance with GEICO who offered "mechanical breakdown insurance" when I first purchased my car. Far less expensive than an extended warranty. I called them, and not only were they covered but I was able to upgrade to the GT500 lower control arms.

My final cost....250.00 for my deductible.

I was on the phone with GEICO for maybe 15 minutes. I don't normally espouse the virtues of one company over another, but if you get any horror stories about GEICO, don't believe them.
