After much talk and research, I finally bought and installed my back up LEDS. I bought the 30W Cree White LED from Ebay seller. Cost was:

Subtotal $27.19

Sales tax $2.58

Shipping Free

Total = $29.77 (unfortunately seller was in my state, so tax was applied.)

INSPECTION -
Delivery was fast & for the price you receive 4 LED lights. I only needed 2 for my application. First glance quality looked decent. A closer inspection revealed a few issues.. speck of dirt in lens assembly(non-issue) and a blemish under the projector lens in 2 of the LEDs. This blemish would more than likely be a non-issue, but I'm picky and used the 2 non blemished LEDs. I did contact the seller and attached pictures. We will see how it gets resolved.

INSTALLATION -

This was simple and easy. 2 screws hold the tail lens in and the assembly gently pulls out. I let my lens hang while I removed stock bulbs and installed LED. Use a microfiber rag so the hanging lens assembly doesn't scratch your paint. I also took advantage of the opportunity to clean a few areas that were now exposed by the removal of the lens assembly(edge of assembly and where it mounts). LEDs are polarized, so you need to plug them in and check for polarity. TIP: I didn't have any young hot models around to hold my truck in reverse. So I simply clicked my unlock button on my remote. On my truck, this actuates the lights for a few seconds. This is also how I took all the pictures you see. Placing a brick on the brake while in gear as my friend suggested, did not sound good to me! (that is a joke- do not ever do that!)

CONCLUSION -

Not sure? Seems much brighter and lights have the whiter light I wanted. It seems that these bulbs have some shadows, but only time will tell how they perform. I do like the idea of the fog light bulb mod for back up lights, but was looking at the longevity of the LEDs. Will also have to see what affect this has on backup camera picture. I may also look into a different type of LED(non projector) for this napplication.

NOTES -

The E-bay seller seems to have limited English and some of my questions and concerns were not answered. We will see how he responds to my replacement request for the 2 other bulbs. If he replaces them, I may list them for sale here. Keep posted & thanks for reading.

Sorry night pictures are not that great!
