Even though I drive a blue truck, I'm a big supporter of the red team. The red team as in Milwaukee Tools. In my opinion they make some of the best designed tools for working professionals.

One of the tools on my list was an M18 multi tool. I found one on OfferUp from a guy that buys overstock tools and resells. While I was there, I bought an empty M12 drill case for an extra $10.

Milwaukee does not offer a case for their multi tool. And if any of you have bought Milwaukee products and needed a case, you know that plastic cases can be expensive. I paid somewhere around $80 for my Milwaukee Sawzall case. Even used cases can be anywhere from $20 on up plus shipping.

Anyway back to why I bought the extra M12 drill case. I had the idea that I could make some custom cuts and make my own case. So I unpacked my new M18 multi-tool and marked out where I wanted to cut in the case. I knew that I wanted the tool to sit in the case with the blade attached.

The project in total took less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Next on the list will be to make a relief cut so that I can put an M18 battery in the case. I will also clean up some of my cuts and sand the edges to make it look pretty. I did not know if this was going to work but it actually works pretty good.

I really only cut 3 square sections away. And yes I used my new multi tool. It came with a wood cutting blade that cut through the plastic like butter.

The tool fits snugly and does not move around in the case. So feel free to steal my idea and copy it for yourself.
