One thing that hinders a clean windshield in the wintertime is ice and snow frozen on the wiper blades. While my Highlander has the heated strip at the bottom of the windshield, this only helps free the frozen blade from the windshield.
One contributing factor of poor blade performance is ice and snow freezing in the articulating point of the factory supplied wiper blade:

Enter a Beam wiper blade:

After a bit of research I chose the Bosch ICON Beam wiper blade. The applicable part numbers are:
Drivers Side - 26A
Passengers Side - 18A
I did not find an applicable ICON blade for the rear window wiper.
As you can see there are no articulating points on the Beam wiper blade. It is one continuous blade conforming to the windshield surface. Using this type of blade has resulted in a better cleaning sweep of the glass. It should be noted that these blades will also freeze, however they do provide better performance in staying on the surface than the factory blades.
