Old but gold: 2001 Audi S4 equipped with LSx V8

Marnell Balmeo loved the rush of driving his turbocharged Pontiac Firebird WS6, where the boosted V8's power and torque always left a lasting impression. When it was time for a new project, he wanted to recreate that thrill with something truly unique.

For this new adventure, Marnell chose a 2001 Audi S4 (B5), which originally featured a twin-turbo 2.7L V6. But Marnell had bigger plans. He swapped in a quad-turbo 6.0L LQ4 V8, mounted on custom mounts he fabricated himself. This beastly engine boasts forged internals, ported factory heads, and four On3 GT35 turbochargers.

Why four turbos? Marnell thought if he was going to stand out, he might as well go all in. The combination of the V8 and four turbochargers took up so much space in the engine bay that Marnell had to relocate the radiator to the trunk.

Despite these major modifications, Marnell retained the factory 01E six-speed manual transmission and AWD drivetrain, thanks to a Kitcarchassis adapter. A twin-disc clutch helps the transmission handle the immense power.

Marnell proudly reports that his creation can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and from 60 to 130 mph in 3.7 seconds. This Audi S4 isn’t just a car; it’s a testament to Marnell’s passion and ingenuity.
