I finally pulled the trigger on an aftermarket shifter. I should've made this my first modification! The install of the shifter is easy, the shift bracket would be easy if the driveshaft wasn't there. I have big hands and all the contortions needed to tighten the four bolts is a nightmare. It is worth it, but it is a pain.
I have a Porsche 930 with reverse up to the left and the only lock out is a determined shove to the left to engage reverse. The Hurst is the same. It is very easy to tell the difference between first and reverse, I also have the back up sensors so the reverse message is displayed in my dash when Im in reverse. I hanent needed it but it is a nice redundant measure.
The 2nd gear notchiness is gone, 2nd-6th shifts are positive and there is no hang up from 2nd to 3rd.
I highly recommend the shifter and SR's bracket!
