So the nice ones I like are super expensive! 89 buck per pair up to 120. I can not stand running around without them. I throw rocks, snow, slop, everywhere when I change lanes I mean even the guys that tailgate back way off. But a few issues with this. A, its illegal. B, it mucks up the car wash and that snow crap from the roads is nasty. C, it finishes off the exterior look of the truck. So here's the plan and I will update the topic as I go. It may only take one day but it might take more days cause I want to do a nice job. I have basic metal tools and a grinder. The challenge is to make 4 mud flaps for under 50 bucks. I got a head start cause I've had the supplies stocked up for this project for years.

Supplies:

-Rubber mat enough 16"x14"x 3 pieces is the min I figure.

-Chrome pieces x4. Mine are small mud flaps I got for another car but were still too small.

- anything else needed will come from the around the shop unless by the end of the week I'm gonna find something, but that's what updates are for. If anyone else has made mud flaps I'd like to see them. I'm pretty set on a design but we will see. I've spent 6 bucks on chrome. It's not quality I'm sure but it will do. The rubber I spent nothing. They are metal mesh coated vulcanized rubber sheets, I've had them for years and are basically pieces of conveyor belt material. They are more rigid than normal mud flaps and alot lighter than the ones I liked. I just found the pieces hiding as tool drawer liners...lol
