Ride Quality: OEM 18 vs. 20

Just put my winter tires/rims on for the first time. I find that the 18" tires give a much more supple ride and absorb the bumps that are usually jarring with the 20's. Some of this is due to the tire (18 Blizzak vs. 20 Toyo), but a large deal is probably due to taller sidewall. The handling is not nearly as good, but for long trips on the highway to go skiing I don't think I'll mind! :D

Another observation, the Toyos seem to have pretty poor traction. Maybe this is because of the low rolling resistance, but the grip at take-off with the winter tires is better (probably a stickier and softer rubber compound). After 7k, the Toyos seem to have worn fairly quickly. I anticipate replacing at 20k (whether I have to or not!).
