Review of Lumen H8 LED bulb for Foglights

Hi All,

Wanted to give my feedback/review on the Lumen PLH8CW - PlaZma Series Replacement LED Bulb (H8, White) from CarId.

I bought these to replace my standard H8 halogen fog light bulbs for two reasons;

1. Match color of BiXenon headlights.

2. Long life of LED bulb.

Pro:

Excellent Color Match - look identical to my eye

Fit - plug and play for socket, but a little looser in housing (not quite a snug on twist in)

Con:

The light dispersion is horrible for a fog light! These do not provide any sort of low level "ground" light as the fogs do. They really would only be suitable for use as a DRL given 360 light pattern projected forward. They project two almost perfect circles of light with no cut-off whatsoever.

This is sort of surprising given that both the stock halogen and the LED bulbs give "360 degree light" - the only difference to me is that the halogens have very front tip blacked out and LED have clear housing in front.
