Just installed a dashcam, no wiring needed, just like Fitcamx

I bought a Fixcamx 4k dashcam for my 2017 Prius Prime, it was easy to install, no wiring required, but the $170 price tag is too high.

I bought a lot of stuff from aliexpress, so I decided to try it again.

I chat with seller, sent him the picture and he confirmed that model B fits Venza. The price was $79 (now $88), less than half of the one from Amazon. I decided to give it a try. I placed order on 6/2 (6/3 local time). Seller shipped after 2 days, and I finally received it on 6/15. Then I took 3 weeks' vacation, and 3 weeks to finish the project. I did not have time to install it until today.

The box size is identical to the Fitcamx with much better quality, however, for $90 more, you get a better user manual, USB microSD card reader, 32GB microSD card, and a tool (not really needed) to rip out the rearview mirror back cover. However, just look at the new cover with dashcam, they are IDENTICAL! I believe they are from the same factory.

Installation is easy, no tool required, push the original rearview mirror back cover down, remove the small piece cover, and then larger one, remove 2 orange colored piece clips and install them on new cover, then pull out the original power cable, insert the new one. I connected the power to make sure it works, then install it back. It requires some DIY skill, but even if you are just a little handy, you can do it, completely same as Fitcamx. Youtube has a bunch of video how it works even with RAV4.

The video quality is very good.

Ask any question and glad to answer. Attach some pictures, one of them is the screenshot from iphone. Forgot to create a picture from dashcam.
