Background, i got my truck back from the body shop 2 weeks ago after a front left hit and run. Everything has been fine for the two weeks until...
Yesterday, got a hyper flash and a DIC message for a front right turn signal malfunction. Next time i used the turn signal, no issue. the problem remained intermittent for the drive to work and the drive home.
Today, i figured i would replace the front right turn signal bulbs (7443) and in doing so, i would make sure nothing was loose while re-assembling. Still have the issue PLUS...
When the headlights are on, the high beams and fog lights have a dim glow. If i turn on the high beams, only the left comes on, and i loose the right head light (so both high and low are illuminated on the left, neither on the right) and the fogs get full bright (even with them not turned on by the switch).
Additionally, with the head lights on (and the dim glow from the highs and fogs), if i turn the right turn signal on, everything other than the left headlight will alternate with the right turn signal.
Also, the right headlight seems dim compared to the left, so i am assuming that current that should be going to the right headlight may be going to the high beams and the fogs (producing the dim glow from them).
I think that covers it. This seems very very strange to me. Any ideas???
SOLVED - loose ground behind the bumper on the outside of the right frame rail
it still seems like a strange set of patterns. this is why i am a mechanical engineer..
