Today I installed the zone 1.5" add a leaf:
After a fairly fun battle doing the lift at a friends house since the only lift at the shop I work at is in use with a vehicle that cant be moved...ITS INSTALLED! Im quite happy, it lifted it up enough and then a bit. I have about 1" of real rake thats noticeable and the rest looks good. I got exactly 1.5" of lift according to the measurements and it seems the capacity is MUCH better.
Only thing I cant figure out and there arent any instructions-is how do you use the spring clamps they came with? They are a clip type where it fits over the leafs. Issue is, the one part as a dimple in it that will not allow the clamp to fully close. I suppose I could drill into the leaf for the dimple. I wanted to bolt/rivet it on there and use another type of clamp but I need to find a local spring shop and see if they have any clamps..
Hoping I dont have to do anything else and this adds to the weight capacity. Im not sure WTH GM was thinking giving these trucks 2 leafs plus an overload..WTH.. If anything they should have 4 leafs and an overload or at least 3.
What I really want is to use the clamps that come on the 2500HD (or maybe they are using them on the NNBS or whatever they call the 14+ trucks). Its a clamp that goes over the pack, seems shot peened on and has a bolt at the bottom.
