So bought new wheels and tires today for the GT. The LXS we own is going to use the stock GT wheels and tires this summer. I do love the Pilot 4S but they are over $300 dollars more than Continental and hard to get right now. The Extreme contact sport was at the top of my list but Tire rack actually turned quicker times with the DWS 06 plus and the times in the video above were very close.
I went with 235/45 on a 17x8 48mm offset. I don't like the tiny sidewalls on the 18 inch wheels which was the biggest reason for the 17 inch size. The stock Michelin PS4 only has 7 inches of contact patch width. The Continental DWS has between 7.5 and 7.75 inches of actual contact patch width. I am hoping the larger contact patch and slightly larger diameter will help eliminate some of the traction issues the Racechip has created. With the stock Michelins I can not get traction in 2nd and I am hoping these Continentals will fix that.
