Poly Engine Mounts, check them frequent

For the last 6 months I have been using Powerflex yellow upper engine, Powerflex purple transmount, and a mix of Whiteline standard and Powerflex yellow for the torque strut. This all worked great and had no vibrations. There was slight wheel hop in rare situations. Since my car is a 6spd I still did not like how much the engine would shift front to back when you get on and off the gas.

This weekend I removed all the inserts I had in and started from scratch. I installed the Powerflex black upper engine first but removed it and put the Powerflex yellow back in the next day, Powerflex black transmission (I reused the metal plate that I had already trimmed), and Powerflex purple for the torque strut. This feels better overall. Less engine movement and less NVH than before. No tire hop either and engine movement is as controlled as I can get it without causing too much vibration.

I did try using the Powerflex black upper engine mount but the vibrations proved to be too much from it. I thought I could get used to them but I ran into a BIG problem with the Powerflex black upper engine mount. The vibrations from the upper mount were making the knock sensor think there was engine knock/detonation under wide open throttle (4500-6000rpm) and actually reducing power. I felt it about 5 times on my ride home. At first I thought it was a bad MSD coil but decided to look at mounts first since that was the only change since yesterday. I immediately swapped the Powerflex yellow upper engine mount back in and test drove and had zero issues. Plus the yellow makes no vibrations.

As far as Whiteline being junk, the one Whiteline bushing I was using in the lower torque strut was falling apart already, the Powerflex yellow still looked like new. The left one is the Whiteline one with chunks missing out of it (6000 miles roughly) and the right one is a new Whiteline insert.
