One of the other issues I had with my Acadia was the tops of the headlamps were oxidizing and developed cracks. We all know GM replacements are expensive, especially the HID versions which is what I have. Aftermarket replacements are $600 a pair, still not cheap. I decided to to sand them and ceramic coat them with the Griot’s ceramic headlamp restoration kit. I started off with my own sandpaper and wet sanded with 800, 1000 and 1500 paper. Then I opened the kit and used the supplied 1000, 2000 and 3000 paper, along with the oxidation cleaner and the ceramic finish. Attached are before, during and final results. I am happy with the results. The lamps look practically brand new. My advice if anyone else decides to do this… take your time and follow the directions. Do not rush or cut corners and you will get good results.
