My 8" Skar Audio sub install

Audio And Sound System Upgrades / Amplifiers written by @tattoo007 GMC Terrain 2012

Hey guys new here. Been lurking a while to see what everyone is doing about sound upgrades. I decided to upgrade my factory 8 with a Skar Audio SVR-8 2ohm DVC, Alpine MRV-T420 that I had laying around, and a Gravity DBE LOC.

I've noticed a lot of people asking where to pull signal from, where to run power, and where to tap in for the amp remote wire. For the signal, since the factory sub is DVC, I just ran the 4 leads to the LOC. Power for the LOC is piggybacked off of my amp. The 8 gauge power wire was ran under the door sills and trim. As for getting through the firewall, I see a lot of people go through the big wire grommet. Personally, I just drilled through toward the left of the brake pedal. I can snap pics if anyone wants them.

The accessory/remote wire was ran with the power wire. It turns right under the dash and ties into the radio fuse on the passenger side fuse panel.

Below are some pics of the install. Hopefully they may help some people on the fence about what they want to do.

This setup sounds great... but be aware, you'll need some sound deadener for sure, unless you like big loud rattles. Im actually going to have to go back in with some dynamat or similar product to dampen some of my rattle and direct more sound into the cab.
