Drove without a gas cap, no problem

Thought I would share this;

I had a seniors moment and left my locking gas cap at the gas station after a fill up.

We then drove three hours of freeway driving to meet up with friends.

Only when we got out of the Jeep did I smell fuel. Opened the filler door and discovered the missing cap! I then stuffed a rag into the filler neck to get us back home.

Returned to the gas station that night and the attendant had it waiting for us.

I was very surprised that the moment the Jeep started up I didn't get a "check engine" lamp or some other warning message. Nothing, Zip, Nada...

For those interested. The Mopar locking gas cap for JL's is programmed to the ignition key. Same as the Bolt hood lock.
