Hyundai Veloster X Brace on Rio

Putting this install in a separate thread as there is a couple things you have to do to be able to fit this properly to a Kia Rio.

What your looking at is an X Brace for the Hyundai Veloster by Luxon. Luxon make a few other suspension/handling parts for all the latest Hyundai's and Kia's.

Install tools are simple; a good socket wrench. I busted my one and had to go out and get a new one. The cheap ones you get in socket sets are fine for the smaller bolts but not the two big ones. Install tools are below:

-Socket wrench

-12mm socket

-19mm socket

-File (can pick them up at any hardware store)

You dont even need a jack. You can put this on without lifting the car up. Its a little difficult but can easily get it on. One person install too. Its very simple.

Before install there is a couple things you need to do. At one end of the brace you will have two bolt holes next to each other. The last one you need to make the bolt hole for it slightly longer with a file. About 5mm longer is all it needs. Reason why is below:

If you dont make the last hole bit longer you will only get 5/6 bolts back in. Making the last holes slighlty longer gives you the room to get the bolt back in. Tried bolting it back in starting at different areas and always got 5 in out of the 6.

There is also another issue with putting the brace on. Exhaust clearance. The exhaust shield will just touch the brace and will vibrate up against it when you start up. To give you a bit of clearance all you need to do is put a rubber grommet onto the bolt before you put the bolts back in. Washers will do too if you have them laying around. Rubber grommets are cheap to pick up from any hardware store and so are washers. Washers are cheaper but you will need around 3-4 per bolt. Grommet will only need one per bolt but they cost more.
