Added factory remote start to nonfactory remote start car

I have a 2009 Malibu LT that didn't come with the remote start feature but I figured out a way to add it. Ill tell you how to do it as well. Note: Some of the LT models have remote start and all LTZ models had it.

1. find a car a the junkyard that's the same year and trim model, if not you will run into issues.

2. look in the glove box and look for the remote start code: AP3

3. you will need a BCM, located under center console on passenger side.

4. you will need the remote door lock receiver, located on rear window self under trim

5. you will need to get a new key fob. I got mine from advanced auto and it came with a programmer, was the most expensive at $80

This cost me about $120

(Note Im not sure if this will work without the onstar package.)

if anyone has any questions let me know.
