Review: EBC Yellow Stuff + R1 Drilled Rotors

Few weeks ago, I had my first full brake rotor and pad replacement since I gave my review a year and a half ago in Sep. 2014 on the EBC Yellow Stuff and BrakePerformance rotors upgrades from OEM...

First I went with R1 Drilled Rotors + Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic Brake Pads...

Man was I disappointed with the Wagner...

1st... even though I didn't get to do a full bed-in process, I did drive +600 miles on the highway + a few weeks of city driving on the new pads & rotors... still, after all that. my emergency stopping distance was 1/3 longer than before, and cold start braking power almost caused me to crash a few times in traffic (I didn't expect so little braking power).

Oh, and did I mention they weren't quite? Yes they probably would of quite down some more later on, but still... sounds like rock grinding every time I hit the brakes.

So, last week, I got another set of Yellow Stuff :)

Boy do I love these pads...

Yes they're more expensive, and will probably wear your rotors more, but right away you can feel the difference in stopping power.

I haven't pushed it yet, but even in cold start, the braking power is amazing... as advertised.

Since I do over load my ride up +850 - 1,000lbs once or twice a year during long trips, and fully load ~800 lbs for beach trips etc... I definitely appreciate the stopping power.

I think the rear pads will probably wear faster again, but I do think it's worth it... particularly if you're a spirited driver.
