Ebay lokar shifter. Bent it with a torch and one of my breaker pipes, then cut it into pieces.

Finished threading them tonight. Now to fab the bracket and cut down the "mounting block" the rod originally threaded into.

I was thinking of the brazing because i get pre-retail pricing at my job (asst manager at Ace Hardware now) and we have tin brazing wire and silver solder. We haven't carried oxygen in a while but we should allegedly be getting MAP gas at some point and we're loaded on propane. Plus i still have some sheet steel laying around from making my bumper/fender brackets. If i can do it myself i'll save the $$ from having a welder do it since noone i know has a mig.

No matter what i'm going to use atleat one bolt through the solid part on the right half of the post and either set screws or another bolt if its not secure enough for me.
And of course i'm getting a boot for it to cover up the ugly parts.

Test fit one of my practice shift knobs for fitment until i collect all the parts for the final shift stick. I'm using this setup as a tester so i don't make too many mistakes prepping the final

Scribing and cutting the adapter(?) box.
Also, showing your buddy what you think of his harbor freight dremel and showing everyone else your "machine shop" is only better than a 1940's backwoods moonshiner's BECAUSE you have a dremel cutting wheel.......

Got some galvanized post brackets on a fluke buy......i'll be twisted if they aren't a perfect fit when they're sandwiched.

Well, she done. Just need a boot and a bit of a rethink on how exactly i want my finished piece to look
