So, I purchased a Roush CAI. Yes, I know the gains will be minimal if anything and that a tuned CAI is better. Don't want to mess with tunes for a while. I got the CAI more for the looks and sound. When I got it, it looked as if it was broken because the piece that the air intake duct (#7 in diagram) makes a seal against on the air box seemed to be missing (second pic). The stock airbox and other CAI have a raised lip that the intake duct wraps around. I e-mailed Roush and they said it's not broken and will have no ill effects. They say the air intake duct will rest against the airbox with a small gap. The gap is about 1 inch, this seem's pretty starnge to me. Would there be any issues here? Seem's to me that air can escape?
