Imagine cruising down the road in a 1968 Corvette that's been transformed into a modern masterpiece. Earlier this year, we stumbled upon such a gem sold at Mecum Auctions. This isn't just any Corvette—it's a marvel of engineering and style, built on a Street Shop chassis and enhanced with cutting-edge Corvette C7 suspension, QA1 adjustable coilovers, and powerful C7 Z06 brakes.
This beast rolls on sleek Asanti 20-inch wheels, with 245/40ZR20 tires at the front and massive 345/30ZR20 tires at the back, ensuring it grips the road like a true sports car. Under the hood lies a monstrous 7.0L LS7 V8 engine, delivering an exhilarating 530 horsepower and 482 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with a TR6060 six-speed manual transmission, complete with a cooler, this setup channels power to an independent rear end featuring 3.23 gears and a limited-slip differential (LSD).

But the magic doesn't stop there. This Corvette boasts a C3R widebody, beautifully finished in C7 Z06 Mosaic Black paint by the renowned Tim Ford. The result is a stunning blend of classic design and modern flair. The attention to detail is incredible, with the car's transformation requiring a whopping 1,800 hours of labor.
