Chevy Impala SS with Two LS4 V8 Engines - When One is Good, But Two are Better

Performance Modifications / Engine Swap written by @ChevyGuy

Tony Angelo is taking on an ambitious project with his 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS by doubling up on the power—installing not one but two V8 engines. The stock Impala SS is already impressive, boasting a 5.3L LS4 V8 that churns out 303 horsepower (226 kW) and 323 lb-ft (438 Nm) of torque, paired with a 4T65E-HD four-speed automatic transmission.

Tony, along with his buddies Lucky Costa and Colin Wolf, decided that one LS4 V8 just wasn't enough. They installed a second LS4 V8 and another automatic transmission in the back of the car. For now, they're keeping the engines at stock power, giving the car a combined output of 606 horsepower. But knowing Tony, that's just the beginning—more power is definitely in this Impala's future.

Car Categories Involved in the Modification:

  • Engine: Adding a second LS4 V8.
  • Transmission: Integrating an additional 4T65E-HD automatic transmission.
  • Chassis: Modifications to accommodate the second engine and transmission.
  • Suspension: Adjustments for handling the extra weight and power.
  • Exhaust: Custom exhaust system for the twin-engine setup.
  • Cooling System: Enhanced cooling solutions for both engines.
  • Stay tuned to see how Tony and his team turn this dual-engine beast into a powerhouse on wheels!
